1st Series – Land Double with a Retired Gun and a Flyer

106 Dogs Started this Series

Test Dogs started out this series on Saturday morning at 7:02 am, beginning with "Whimsey," handled by Betsy Broyd.and then "Earl," handled by John Higgins.

The first running dog of this series was #64 FC-AFC COOLWATER’S COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF, “Trump,” with handler Alex Washburn. They came to the line at 7:43 am.


The weather to start this series was 66 degrees with dreary/cloudy skies and a light breeze.

Here is how things turned out for the 1st Series …

Our last running dog for this Series was a rerun for dog #
49. FC-AFC WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN, “Wilma," with handler Mark Huffman. They completed the test at 4:48 pm.

106 dogs were sent from the line in this series, taking a total of 9 hours and 5 minutes, which averages out to be just over 5 minutes per dog. 

We will be moving on to the 2nd Series Tomorrow! Callbacks to come - we will post them on the blog as soon as we have them!

F (Flyer) -  Matty entered the area under the arc - she drove a little deep and left - but quickly pulled right to loop back and scoop up her bird.

LR (Left Retired) - She committed to a tight hunt near the RG - she extended her hunt right to include the fall area and was able to locate her bird.

LR (Left Retired) -  Over the middle of the mound and then down the left side and hunted wide left and back to the area in front of the blind - very extended hunt - but he got it.

LR (Left Retired) -  Great line under the arc - turned left instead of right and went deep and then into the area by the trees - headed back deep - handled back to the bird with multiple whistles

LR (Left Retired) -  Entered the area under the arc and went left towards the gunners - a quick loop and extended out right to include the bird and he found it!

F (Flyer) -  Excellent line  - came in just left of the fall -  a quick turn and he got it!

LR (Left Retired) - Over the mound in front of the blind - hunted the bales in the middle - but he had not gone quite far enough for this extra long bird - but he worked it out and got it! Nice!
