Tessa and Bart came to the line at 8:52 am
F - Smack!
Island - Over the left side of the mound - onto the point - up and down and then wide left and deep - back to the point - more left and right - over to the blind - went wide left and was getting deeper - but she came back to the point - the island - and then the bird!
MR - Great line! Carried her line all the way to the fall area and located the bird!
72. FC-AFC DAYS END BOY NAME SUE QA2, “Sue,” BLM, Mark Medford
Sue and Mark came to the line at 8:45 am
F - Perfect!
Island - Wide left side of the mound - out to the point up and down to the blind - back to the point and then the island and his bird.
MR - Out right of the bale - across the field and out to the point - off the end into the pond - carried his line all the way to the bird!

Island - Made quick work of his Island Bird!
MR - Pulled right as he neared the point - in the water and he took a great line across the pond - drove the bank just missing the bird! Quickly turned back and got it!

Island - Very nice line - but missed it - went up on the point - back and forth and then back into the pond and got it.
MR - Into the pond just right of the island - took a hard left at the point - over the point and reentered the water - up and out to the treeline left of the blind - moved right down the field - passed the blind and then out to the bird.

Trump and Alex came to the line at 7:50 am and had a no bird, they will be back after 6 dogs
63. FC OGF MATTY ROBERTS MH QA2, “Matty,” BLF, Tim Milligan
Matty and Tim came to the line at 7:40 am
F - Nice recovery
Island - Pulled a little left over the mound - came out near where the gunners stood - did a couple loops on land at the end of the pond - got back to the area and located the bird.
MR - Ran down the point and swam across to the far point - re-entered the water - exited and climbed up the bank towards the blind - cut right and scooped up her bird.
62. FC COPPERTOP FOUR WAYS TO SUNDAY, “Sunday,” BLM, Al Arthur
Sunday and Al came to the line at 7:34 am
F - Good Job on the Flyer!
Island - Up and over the middle of the mound - across the water to the island and located his bird.
MR - Swam to the far point - jumped right off the point - squared out and climbs the bank to arrive left of the gunners - a quick pass through the timber and he dropped down in front of the gunners and got the bird.

Briar and Tony came to the line at 7:26 am
F - Took a turn and got it!
Island - Straight to the island and his bird!
MR - Into the pond and past the island - turned left and went deep of the island bird area - dog was picked up

Dawson and Bill came to the line at 7:20 am
F - Stepped on it!
Island - Over the mound - missed it - hunted the point - wide left - quickly came back out to the point - over to the island and his bird.
MR - Across the flat and into the pond - right off the tip of the far point - perfect line - straight to the bird!
59. FC SEASIDE’S LL COOL J, JR, “Cool J,” BLM, Craig Crook
Cool J and Craig came to the line at 7:13 am
F - Quick Retrieve - Nice!
Island - 1 quick turn on land and then straight for the bird!
MR - Excellent line towards the bird - took a left - got out wide left - went to the trees - took a right to grab his bird.
2nd Series Test Dogs - Day 2

The single test dog to the line this morning was Whimsey with handler Betsy Broyd .... Whimsey came to the line at 6:55 am
FLYER (F) - Little quick loops and she located her bird.
MIDDLE RETIRED (MR) - Out across the mound and headed to the island - she then shows up left on land to start a hunt - gunners assist her to this bird.
ISLAND BIRD - Across the point and swam across to the far point - up the bank under the arc and onto the bird.
Good Morning - Day 3
Good Morning Everyone and Welcome to the 3rd day of the National Open Retriever Championship!
This morning we are finishing up the 2nd Series and then moving on to the 3rd!
We have started out this morning with rather cold temps compared to the last few days, with temps currently at about 44 degrees, clear skies and an 8 mph wind. The expected high temp for today is only 51 degrees this afternoon with sunny skies. These is mid-winter temps for Georgia! We will update you with any changing conditions as the day progresses. So stay warm and stay tuned as we prepare to finish up the 2nd Series before moving on to the 3rd!
We have 28 dogs left to run this series – Best of Luck to Everyone!

F - He made such quick work of this flyer!
Island - Out to the island and back in with his bird.
MR - Out on a line towards the bird - started angling left - went over the point and back into the pond and out very wide left - angled down the shore to the fall area and got his bird.
57. FC-AFC HIGH ROAD ABE, “Abe,” BLM, Randi Johannis
Rex and Ronald came to the line at 4:45 pm
F - Smack!
Island - Great Job!
MR - Across the field - over the point and out in front of the holding blind - quickly on to his bird.

Rex and Ronald came to the line at 4:40 pm
F - Quick recovery of his bird.
Island - Over the mound and on to his bird.
MR - His line out took him just right of the island - he swam on to the far point - crossed it and re-entered the water and then climbed up the bank into the trees - quickly turned back and came out of the timbers to run down and get his bird.
55. FC-AFC MARSHWIND’S TURBULENCE, “Evie,” BLF, Bente Kongsore
Evie and Bente came to the line at 4:32 pm
F - Evie had a tight hunt and came back with her bird.
MR - She went out just right of the island and continues to swim - she crossed to the far side - came out at the base of the point on the far side - climbed the bank and made a pass through the woods coming out behind the gunners - drops down and gets the Middle Retired bird.
Island - Over to the left side for the mound and onto the island to dig out her island bird.

Brook and Edward came to the line at 4:23 pm
F - Direct line to the bird.
Island - Beautiful line to the island - quickly scooped up the bird.
MR - Into the water on a hard left angle - up into the trees and then down to the fall area and got her bird.

Yeti and Chris came to the line at 4:16 pm
F - Smack!
Island - Over the mound - up on the point - a quick turn to the right and got it!
MR - Out across the field into the pond - good angle to the right across the point - back into the water - drove straight up the hill - looped left and scooped it up.
Handle 52. FC RAIN’S BASES LOADED, GRAND SLAM, “Slam,” BLM, Jim Beck
Slam and Jim came to the line at 4:08 pm
F - Got his bird!
MR - Slam went right of the island and swam to the point instead - crossed it and drove the hill - ran along the hillside to scoop up the Middle Retired bird.
Island - Overran the area - went as far as the far shore and was handled back to the island bird.
51. FC-AFC BAYOU TECHE EXPRESS, “Ryan,” BLF, Lauren Hays
Ryan and Lauren came to the line at 3:59 pm
F - Quick recovery of her bird.
Island - Over the mound and made a big splash - she arrived at the island and got her bird.
MR - Into the pond and went along the point - crossing over the tip - got to the far side on a very good position - out of the water - climbed to be near the gunners blind - over and to the bird.
50. FC SLR’s OVERCHARGED, “Amp,” BLM, JD Babb
Amp and JD came to the line at 3:54 pm
F - Smack!
Island - Down to the shore - quick drag back - stop - then he was on to the bird.
